Golf Club Atlas Feature Interview

Designed, constructed and owned by local designer Rowland Armacost in 1966, Waubeeka Golf Links is located in the north western corner of Massachusetts. The magnificent Berkshire Mountain site provides gorgeous views of the surrounding rural landscape and mountain ranges.

The course was recently purchased by Jim and Judy Goff of Colorado, who have undertaken an extensive upgrading of the entire facility. Jim Goff grew up in Williamstown where his dad Rudy was head golf professional at the acclaimed Taconic Golf Club. Working with Jim and the staff at Waubeeka, MUNGEAM CORNISH GOLF DESIGN has overseen implementation of Phase One of the course renovation with the re-construction of the 1st and 10th holes, new bunkering on holes 8 and 18, and the development of a large practice range and undulating practice green.

Phase Two of the classically influenced renovation project was begun in the fall of 2009 and includes a new 16th hole, nearly rebuilt 17th hole, a new green and extensive drainage on #13, and bunkering and tee improvements on holes 11, 12, 14 and 15.

A third phase to include re-construction of several more greens in the Seth Raynor style is being planned.
